Privacy
Afterchorus uses this site to collect voluntary email signups and public contact messages. This notice covers the double-opt-in signup flow currently live; recurring editorial email will start only after the public operator and imprint details are completed.
Contact
You can reach Afterchorus at hello@afterchorus.com.
What the signup form collects
Email address, consent text, consent timestamp, source page, cleaned referral source without query parameters, UTM fields, user-agent hash, and IP hash.
The site also records first-party, no-cookie website events such as page views, signup submit/success/error, and social-link clicks. These events use cleaned path/referrer/UTM fields plus hashed IP and user-agent data; they do not create a client-side browser identifier or use browser storage.
Why it is collected
To send double-opt-in confirmation email, deliver occasional Afterchorus updates after confirmation, remember signup consent, and protect the form from abuse. First-party website events help measure whether the page is useful without adding advertising pixels or third-party analytics.
Legal basis
Email updates are based on consent. Abuse-prevention logs and hashes are processed to protect the service and maintain reliable delivery.
Retention
Subscriber consent records are retained while the subscription is active and as needed to prove consent or honor an unsubscribe request. Pending confirmation token hashes are cleared after 24 hours, stale pending subscribers are deleted after 30 days, expired or used confirmation action-token rows are deleted after 7 days, abuse-prevention signup-attempt hashes are deleted after 90 days, and raw website event rows, including server-side abuse hashes, are deleted after 395 days unless they are needed for an active abuse or legal investigation.
Service providers
The production stack uses Vercel for hosting, Neon Postgres for the subscriber table, and Resend for confirmation and delivery email. These providers may process data in the United States, European Union, or other locations according to their service terms and data processing agreements.
Withdrawal
Every Afterchorus email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also request removal by emailing hello@afterchorus.com.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Cookies and tracking
The current site does not use advertising pixels, analytics cookies, session replay, embedded social widgets, or non-essential browser storage. A cookie banner should be added before any non-essential tracking or client-side marketing storage is introduced.
